Sharing Resources Worldwide

Sharing Resources Worldwide is a non-profit that ships medical supplies and equipment to need-identified areas around the world. Among other things, they have shipped wheelchairs and eyeglasses.

Sharing the Journey International

Sharing the Journey International provides humanitarian aid in the form of food, clothing, medical and dental services to the people of Guatemala. In addition to medical and dental trips, Sharing the Journey International organizes surgical missions focused on providing cleft lip and palate corrective surgeries for children.

Short Term International Medical Missions Abroad (STIMMA)

Short Term International Medical Missions Abroad (STIMMA) conducts missions worldwide, including Haiti. STIMMA missions provide free medical and eye care, education and pharmacy services.

Shoulder to Shoulder Santa Lucia Medical Clinic

Hombro a Hombro is a non-profit NGO legally registered in Honduras since 1998 but operating under the sister U.S. organization Shoulder to Shoulder since 1990. It represents a partnership between the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, the City of Cincinnati, the Ministry of Health of Honduras and most importantly, the Community Health Board in Santa Lucia, Intibuca. The Shoulder to Shoulder medical clinic in Santa Lucia, Honduras was constructed by U.S. and Honduran volunteers in 1994. More recently, a modern dental clinic and nutrition center were added. Two Honduran physicians staff the medical clinic round-the-clock and offer some preventive dental services. Patients treated run the gamut from primary care and preventative needs to urgent life-threatening illnesses or injuries requiring surgical intervention.

ShuarHands

ShuarHands assists in maintaining a rural medical/dental clinic in San Marcos, Guatemala. In addition, they send 3 mission teams each year to San Marcos to work in the clinic and to facilitate mobile outreach clinics to more rural populations.

Siempre Unidos (Always United)

Siempre Unidos has the mission to provide life-saving outpatient medical treatment, social support, education, and pastoral care to people living with HIV/AIDS in Honduras. Services are open to all without regard to gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, political affiliation or ability to pay. Clinics are staffed by Honduran physicians and nurses with education and back-up provided by US HIV/AIDS specialists. Social support, nutritional supplementation and pastoral care are provided by the Episcopal Diocese of Honduras. Clinics are in San Pedro Sula, Siguatepeque and Punta Gorda on Rotan.

SIF Centre de Sante (Croix des Bouquets)

Christian Service International (CSI Ministries)operates this clinic. Full-time Haitian doctors and nurses on staff. Average of 100 patients a day. CSI send 7-8 surgical trips/year.

Siloe Project (Centre Pazapa)

Mission is to support the treatment, education and development of children with disabilities towards a fuller integration into the community at large. Support orthopedic services, special education and adjunct programs that support the families of these children at Pazapa Center in Jacmel, and in four outreach zones of LaFond, Bellevue, LaCroix and LaVoute.

Smart Traveler Enrollment Program

The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free program offered through the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs and is intended to help keep you up-to-date on relevant security updates from the nearest US consulate, worldwide.

Smile Train

The Smile Train is focused on solving a single problem: cleft lip and palate. Their mission is to provide free cleft surgery for millions of poor children in developing countries and to provide free cleft-related training for doctors and medical professionals. Maintains a free patient database.

Sociedad Amigos de los Ninos

Sociedad Amigos de los Ninos provides support, through social and developmental programs, to the most vulnerable sectors of the Honduran population. The group works to improve the quality of life for destitute children, young people, mothers, families and communities in Honduras.

Solid Rock International

Non-demoninational Christian Organization supports medical and Christian ministries and operates a medical clinic in the San Juan, Dominican Republic area.

Somos Amigos Medical Missions

Somos Amigos Medical Missions is a service trip that travels to the El Naranjito, Dominican Republic multiple times per year to provide medical and dental care for the local communities. The program was established in 1997 by a group of volunteers, dentists, and physicians looking to bring care for under-served areas in developing countries. The program welcomes physicians, dentists, hygienists, medical and dental students, nurses, and translators of all backgrounds and ages.

Sonje Ayiti

Sonje Ayiti is a group of Haitian and international humanitarians who collaborate to provide education, economic development, and health promotion. Works in Limonade in the North side.

Sonrisas Siempre

Sonrisas Siempre provides dental services to underserved children in Honduras and Ecuador. It does so by educating and providing preventative, restorative, and surgical care during short term dental mission trips.

South American Missionary Society (SAMS)

SAMS recruits, trains, and sends missionaries to several South American countries. SAMS staffs medical clinics in Honduras and the Dominican Republic. They sponsor short- and long-term missionaries in many countries.

Sove Lavi

Sove Lavi operates a primary care clinic in Port Sonde in Artibonite Valley. Hosts medical missions. Other work includes clean water projects, education and clothing and nutrition.

Spanish For Medical Study Abroad Program

Spanish for Medical provides Medical Spanish Immersion programs in Costa Rica for the Medical Professional. Lodging includes home stays, guest houses or hotels.

Special Missions Foundation, Inc.

This organization's mission is to link existing resources throughout the world with specific health, education, and development needs in Honduras.

St. Anthony's Clinic

St. Anthony's Clinic is a 3 room medical clinic staffed by a nurse and medical assistant 5 days a week. A local doctor visits the clinic one day a week. The clinic is run in cooperation with Food for the Poor and is located in the Pro-Longe area of Cap Haitien.

St. Boniface Haiti Foundation and Hospital

SBHF, a non-profit, volunteer organization, supports and helps operate a hospital and a nutrition center, as well as outreach and education programs. The St. Boniface Hospital in the south-central region of Fond des Blancs is a private, non-profit effort offering 20 inpatient beds and round-the-clock emergency care. In 2000, a new surgical unit and nutrition center were built. St. Boniface Hospital treats nearly 30,000 patients per year.

St. Damien Hospital

St. Damien Hospital is a pediatric hospital with 120 beds, including an 18 bed emergency unit, 10 bed pediatric intensive care unit (pICU), a 9 bed cancer center, and 2 surgical suites. The hospital's staffing includes 18 pediatricians and 50 nurses. St. Damien Hospital is located in Port au Prince.
