The Global Health Delivery (GHD) Project

The GHD Project was launched in 2007, spearheaded by Jim Yong Kim, Paul Farmer and Michael Porter. The goal of the GHD Project is to develop a new generation of tools to capture knowledge about program design and implementation’s impact on positive health outcomes and rapidly disseminate innovations to practitioners. The GHD Project includes GHD Studies, a newly designed health care delivery curriculum, and GHD Online, the use of the Internet to enable worldwide communication and information sharing among practitioners.

The Haiti Connection's Haiti Earthquake Network

The Haiti Connections' email group to keep group members informed about events, status and other information related to the January 2010 earthquake centered near Port-au-Prince, Haiti. A Google group.

The Haiti Democracy Project

The Haiti Democracy Project is an independent research group promoting the cause of settled, responsive government in Haiti and U.S. policies conducive to this end. They issue research papers, hold conferences and workshops, host delegations, and sponsor fact-finding missions. Founded in 2002 as an independent organization, but operating under a another format for ten years previously, the project has a board of former U.S. ambassadors, members of the Haitian-American community, and policy analysts.

The Haiti Mission

Founded at Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC. Medical and surgical teams go in groups of about twelve to work at two clinics near Cap Haitien, Haiti. The missions are about eight or nine days. Missions go to the same clinics in January, May and September every year.

The Haiti Project (Hearts For Haiti)

The Haiti Project was begun in 1991 in Mahotte as a Christian mission providing nutrition, education, public health, and medical care using volunteers who come from the U.S. four times a year to three different clinics. The teams are usually short-term (about a week) and provide life-saving care in a very challenging setting without bnenefit of a laboratory,x-ray equipment, etc.

The Healing Hands Foundation

The Healing Hands Foundation provides high quality surgical care to children with complex congenital malformations in areas lacking resources and surgical expertise. They have conducted surgical missions in several countries including Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.

The Iguana Squad

The Iguana Squad is a non-profit organization providing educational and medical assistance to the people of Belize. The Iguana Squad conducts an annual mission focused on the construction of educational facilities and administering healthcare. Medical teams provide medical examinations, dental work, prescription of pharmaceuticals, distribution of eyewear and general health seminars.

The Lazarus Clinic

In Las Pitas, a small mountain town near the Nicaragua border. A full time Honduran doctor and nurse see 150 patients a week for primary care, chronic disease management, and emergency cases. Also run a nutrition program and a preventive health education program.

The Rasin Foundation

The Rasin Foundation works with the people of Leogane, Haiti to improve the physical and mental health of the community. They operate a medical clinic, Le Petite-Riviere Health Center and a children wellness program, Sante Timoun, that provides nutritional, medical and psychological support to malnourished children who have lost parents during the earthquake.

The Shalom Foundation

The Shalom Foundation provides humanitarian assistance and financial support to children living in extreme poverty. The Medical Missions Initiative (MMI) is their strategy for addressing the health needs of children in Guatemala. This initiative includes facilitating week-long surgery trips.

This Gracious Work

This Gracious Work is dedicated to international projects and groups that help others. They helped fund a medical clinic in La Guacamaya, Honduras. Visiting teams have staffed the clinic but the goal is a self-sustaining, locally run clinic.

Timmy Global Health (formerly the Timmy Foundation)

Timmy Global Health's mission is to enhance the medical treatment available to children living in poverty in Guatemala and other countries worldwide. Short term medical and dental teams are sent several times throughout the year. Timmy Global Health also coordinates with partners to determine their material needs, then collect, organize and ship medical equipment and supplies accordingly. Some items are hand-carried by volunteers, while larger items are shipped in crates or containers.

Transitions Foundation of Guatemala

The goal of the Transitions Foundation of Guatemala is to mobilize disabled Guatemalans through health, rehabilitation, education, spiritual development, leadership skills and social integration.

TriMedx Foundation

TriMedx has served communities worldwide. Through collaborative partnerships with individuals and other organizations, TriMedx supports medical equipment technicians who volunteer to travel and perform equipment assessments and repairs.

Tulane Haiti Medical Relief - Sante Total

Sante Total conducts 4 medical missions each year to the village of Jacsonville, Haiti. Sante Total aims to empower local people to become actively engaged in the establishment of a healthcare system and is involved in the construction of a school, medical clinic and mission house.

Twelve Baskets Full, Inc.

Twelve Baskets Full, Inc. is a reclamation project that acquires pharmaceutical products from sources that would have discarded them. Twelve Baskets Full, Inc. then redistributes these medicines to medical missions organizations.

Tyler Rotary Club Missions in Belize

For almost 30 years, Dr. David Nichols, DDS of the Tyler Rotary Club has been regularly leading a group of volunteers to the jungles of Belize and Guatemala to administer badly needed healthcare to the people of these Central American countries.
